Standardising corporate actions – a discussion paper from Clearstream and SWIFT | ||||||||||||||
| Swift’s latest discussion paper, “Standardising corporate actions” looks at the industry’s current status and asks the question, “Can you afford to wait?”. Many individual firms have already seen increased internal efficiencies since implementing corporate actions automation. Clearstream’s contribution to the paper outlines the efficiencies we have gained both internally and through our network of partners and customers. Clearstream has seen internal and industry-wide benefits since adopting Swift’s ISO 15022 lifecycle: operational efficiency, risk and technical cost reduction, the ability to process a greater volume of increasing complex instruments, and ever-improving service levels in terms of timeliness, accuracy and completeness. Swift argues, however, that the full benefits of STP will only be realised through a universal adoption of industry standards.
